About us and our kennel of welsh corgi pembroke «Dubensky Zamok»
Perhaps, the idea of establishing a breeding nurse came to our minds long ago – in those times when we were children and did not thought about our own families yet. My parents and I, we lived first in countryside, at my grandmother’s house, and everybody in our neighbourhood knew where to seek for a lost puppy or kitten – all of them could be found in our yard. My grandma sometimes called me in jest a « dogs’ mother». Later on, having moved to the city, we all kept dogs in our flats.
The situation with my then-husband-to be was totally different – in his childhood all his attempts to bring a dog into the flat of a multistory building always resulted in the same: ”When you grow up, you will keep as much dogs as you wish”.
The time flew, we grew up, and one week after our marriage in our home has appeared …. Guess who? Certainly, it was a dog – a white fluffy Maltese Dolly. Since then we were plentiful with dogs.
It was in 2003. We came to Odessa to the kennel « Djenestra» for a German shepherd male-dog. And suddenly, among all the German shepherds we saw something that made us hold our breath – as we learned afterwards it was a welsh corgi pembroke. All the way back to home we were recalling that dog. Believe it or not, it was really so! We felt in love with this creature at very first sight! Those charming faithful eyes, a muzzle with a wide smile – and all of that was just the welsh corgi pembroke! The thought of it gave no rest to us!
Approximately one month later, at the end of November, my husband went to that kennel again for a German shepherd. Only imagine my surprise and joy when he came back home and handed over to me a basket saying « And this is my New Year’s present to you” – inside was a little red puppy – our first pembroke, Karamelka Djenestra! The little girl has conquered all our friends and acquaintances at once. This smiling muzzle, a coquettish step – it was a real marvell! Karamelka took at once her honorary place in our bed (but later , when she grew up, it took great pains from her to get out of this habit). A little sly «fox-cob» was everywhere with me. To no other dog I devoted so much time as to Karamelka. And there is no surprise – such a marvell made its home in our house! Children almost quarreled with each other for who will play with her more, my husband spent long hours with telephone and in the Internet searching for any possible information – our life changed considerably.
Spring of 2004, the CACIB dog show in Odessa – the first ring of Karamelka! How many excitement, emotions and joy! The very first contact with corgists , and the first victory! But the most important result of that trip … appearing in our home of Fishka Djenestra – a tricolour pembroke - girl! We became happy owners of two wonderful pembrokes. Life became much more interesting. Now we could observe dogs with absolutely different characters and temperament and discover each day new and new peculiarities of the welsh corgi pembrokes. We began to think seriously about opening the own kennel of welsh corgi pembroke, especially since we had some experience in working with one of kennel of the German shepherd.
By the time this decision became firm, in our house already lived three pembrokes - from distant Ural(Russia), from the kennel Lisja Staja has arrived Gusarskaya Rulatka, or simply Rulya. And as a result – on the 14th of June, 2005 the kennel of welsh corgi pembroke «Dubensky Zamok» was officially registered.
Now we have five adult corgis, and , as it seems to me, it’s not the end– after all, we only have begun working.
We are proud of the fact that dogs of our breeding began winning and show great results at the most prestigious dog-shows of Ukraine, Russia and Belarus, and Europe and World Championships still wait for us.
